    DIY Painted Flower Pots

Fall is my all-time favourite season. I feel like people either love it or hate it. I get that it’s getting cold, rains a lot and it’s ushering in the start of the dreaded winter season, but those of us who love the cooler temps and changing colour of the leaves, this is the time of year where we come alive!

While I typically don’t usually decorate for each season in my home, I always try to set up my front porch in an inviting way that greets not only guests coming over but the new time of year. For Fall, that means incorporating mums, pumpkin and lanterns. I love the layered look so I also love trying to add in some pillows or blankets (usually ones I’ve found at the thrift store that I don’t mind if they get dirty outside).

One of the things I am not a fan of however are the planters that most mum plants come in when you buy them. I know you could replant then into a nice ceramic or metal planter, but with the season lasting so short, I find it’s often more trouble than it’s worth to replant.

So this year, I’m trying something new – I painted the flower pots with spray paint and then added cute little designs to them! It was honestly super easy, didn’t take long at all (especially if you do it outside, the spray paint dries so quickly) and it completely changes the look of the flower pots! The options of designs you could make using some painters tape and various painting tools in your home are endless! Let your imagination run wild! You can also do this for ANY plastic flower pots you buy from the store if you aren’t one who likes to replant!
