I am all about the faux these days! What do I mean by that? I’m talking about faux leather and fur!
There are a few reasons that I love the idea of faux fashions. First and most obvious, it is humane and animal-friendly. Not that I claim to be a huge advocate for animal rights (confession: I’m actually petrified of most animals AND I do eat meat…GASP!), but if there are equally good alternatives to fashion without having to harm an animal, why not?!
Secondly, and probably most important for me, is that it is WAY more cost effective. Real leather and furs sell for THOUSANDS of dollars, while you can buy these faux options for less than $50! Especially with trends changing ALL-THE-TIME, I have a hard time wanting to invest a ton of money in non-staples that might be out of style next season. Know what I mean?!
Finally, faux is often times more comfortable, especially when it comes to leather. I own two pairs of faux leather leggings and let me tell you, they are the COMFIEST pairs of pants I own! Real leather doesn’t really breath and is known to be quite hot. Hello, anyone remember the Friends episode with Ross and his leather pants?! In case you don’t, let me remind you!
So for all those reasons, I love to stick with FAUX!
