I am so excited to be sharing our Fall porch with you today, along with a blog hop that includes a number of my fellow bloggers front porches too (scroll to the bottom to see).
This is my favourite time of year from the cooler air, the changing colour on the leaves and the feeling of thankfulness in the air. I find it’s a time where we reflect a lot about all the amazing things we have in our lives and try to spend time with those we love (although, let’s be honest, we’ve already been doing A LOT of that in 2020 so far).
Fall for me also represents bountiful harvest. The idea of having lots of food, family and friends. And so for me, I love for my decorations to represent that – a full set-up, with lots of layers, that reflects all the beautiful blessings in my life!
What I also love about this look is that it’s really simple for people to achieve. Here’s how I did it.
1. Mums
I love decorating with Fall mums during this season. They are so big and beautiful and I love the various colours that they come in! I always get my large ones from Costco – they are such a steal for only $12! The smaller ones I found at Home Depot for $7.
2. Pumpkins
I know that this is an obvious decor choice for Fall, however, I love mixing and matching my pumpkins to get a real eclectic look. I also love the various kinds of pumpkins – not just your traditional orange ones. I went to my local nursery this year and gathered up some white, greeney/blue and light pink pumpkins! I absolutely love the way they look together!
3. Cute Doormat
Every season I find I’m swapping out my doormat for a new one and this Fall, I made this “Welcome Pumpkin” one using my Cricut. It was a little tricky but I do love the way it turned out. I also decided to layer the mat with another outdoor rug underneath it to give it a fuller look!
4. Pretty Wreath
Similar to the doormat, I always find myself swapping out the wreaths on my door each season. This was an old wreath that I did a couple years back – it was actually an old lamp shade that I upcycled into this wreath – and decided to add a few more flowers to it this year to give it new life. You can watch the tutorial on my YouTube channel!
5. Add Light
To finish off the look, I’ve added in a couple of lanterns. This is a nice way to bring warmth and light into your porch decor. You could use real candles, LED candles or even twinkle lights!
There is no wrong way to set up a porch for the Fall season, but adding in some of these layers and textures really helps bring that bountiful feeling which we are all so thankful for!
