We have three kids under the age of six years old. It’s goes without saying that life is messy…that my HOUSE is ALWAYS messy. Don’t let my Instagram fool you, my house does NOT look perfect on any given day. Because, kids.
I LOVE my kids, love them dearly. But they are messy. That’s how they are wired…to play, to imagine, to create, to spill, to explore, to break. They are built to be messy.
So naturally, whenever they ask if they can make MORE mess, my heart instantly skips a beat. Because there is part of me that just wants to throw caution to the wind and say “SURE! PAINT AWAY!” But then the responsible side of me knows that it will entail much more work for me to clean up afterwards, especially if my youngest is involved. He loves to look outside of the conventional four sides of his paper and paint EVERYWHERE else. And by everywhere, I definitely mean EVERYWHERE.
