I’m embarrassed to admit that my skin care regiment consists of washing my face with the kids baby wipes and moisturizing with a cream that my mom gave me. I know…shameful. And as I’m getting older, I am becoming more and more aware that I desperately need to start taking better care of my skin, as I’m starting to see the earliest signs of aging.
Since I turned 30, I am finding all kinds of new “problem” areas on my face. My pores seem to have enlarged over the years, the wrinkles are starting to show up (particularly on my forehead), I have lots of even skin tone and let’s not even start with the bags under my eyes! Yikes! (But I’m going to blame that on the lack of sleep I get from my kids rather than actual skin problems!)
I was pretty excited to try Indeed Labs skin care products, particularly the Hydraluron Mega Moisture Trio. I want to say from the outset that Indeed Labs products are free of parabens, fragrances, colourants, sulfates and are not tested on animals! This Hydraluron mega moisture trio includes: Moisture Boosting Mask, Moisture Serum and the Moisture Jelly.
Let’s start with the mask. The mask is designed with a 3D enzyme structure, which allows the hyaluronic acid to slowly be released over time, allowing for longer lasting skin relief. The end result is better hydrated, moisturized and plumped up skin. Let me tell you, I LOVED this mask! It has an amazing cooling sensation that my skin immediately loved. You leave it on for 15 minutes and then remove, while gently rubbing in the remaining serum into your skin. The results were exactly as indicated: my skin felt refreshed, hydrated and definitely looked a bit more plump. I will for sure be adding this to my skin care regiment!
Next, I used the Hydraluron Moisture Serum. This serum is something you use underneath your everyday moisturizer, to provide optimum moisture for your skin. Using the pure form of hyaluronic acid, which holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water, it will leave your skin feeling incredibly moisturized all day long. Another unique ingredient is the red marine algae that helps restore the skin’s firmness and elasticity.
Finally, in the mega moisture trio, I used the Hydraluron Moisture Jelly. I loved this stuff. Combined with the moisture serum, my skin felt not only incredibly moisturized but firm and plump. The moisture jelly has five active ingredients, which help lock in moisture, giving a natural protective layer to the skin, while helping restore the moisture levels and defend against future loss. I wasn’t sure about using a “jelly” on my skin, but it truly does work and I love the way my skin both feels and looks after application.
The next product I tried was the Micro-Powder Exfoliator. This stuff is really neat because it’s an exfoliator that comes in a powdered format, that is activated once it is mixed with water. Again with five key active ingredients, including bamboo extract, rice bran powder, okinawa red algae, hyaluronic acid and bromelain, this exfoliator does the job by revealing softer, smoother and more polished skin texture. I really like this product and could see an immediate difference with my skin after use. The only thing I found was that it did make my skin quite dry afterwards, but then once I used the moisture serum and moisture jelly, all moisture was restored and my skin looked better than ever!
The final product I want to talk to you about for a minute is the Nanoblur. This product is known as the “instant skin perfecter.” It is colorless, therefore it can be used on both men and women, and provides an instant airbrushed effect on your skin. It reduces the look of enlarged pores while mattifying the skin. It can be used without makeup for a smoother look or when used with makeup, pat on AFTER your foundation application but BEFORE your powder.
So this is the one product that I’m undecided on. I’ve tried it a few different ways: without makeup, with just foundation and then with powder. I do notice a slight difference in terms of smoothing out the lines and pores. You can see in the picture below (if you look REALLY closely), there is a very small difference between the left (pre-nanoblur) and the right (with nanoblur) on my forehand and under my eyes. For me, personally, it’s not enough of a difference to use it continually. The other issue I have with this product is that I don’t love how it makes my skin feel. When it comes to makeup application, I always want products that will feel weightless on my skin. I don’t like the feeling of face makeup. With the Nanoblur, unfortunately, it tightened up my skin (which I guess is the point of the product) but I didn’t like that feeling on my face. I’ve watched a few Youtube videos on it and it seems that it either works for some people or it doesn’t. Kind of a 50-50 thing.
So I would say if you are looking to reduce your pores and lines while mattifying your face, I would give the Nanoblur a try for sure and see if it works for you.
Overall, I am so pleased with these Indeed Labs products that I can highly recommend them to you! I will definitely be including them in my daily skin regiment from now on. You can shop for these products (and more by Indeed Labs) at any Shoppers Drug Mart or Walgreens. Goodbye baby wipes, hello Hydraluron!
