As summer is almost here, I wanted to share a super simple, fun and inexpensive dollar store wreath that you can make using just a few supplies and costing less than $10 to spruce up your front door this coming season!
I’m a sucker for a good wreath and usually like to have one on my front door every season. While I’m usually more traditional in my wreath making, for summer time, I like to get a little fun and playful with my decor.
If you can remember from last summer, I found these water lily flowers from the dollar store and fell in love with them! Having our pool for the first summer ever, it was so fun and beautiful to toss these in and watch them float around.
Well wouldn’t you know it, the dollar store has them again this summer and I thought they’d be perfect for a fun, summer craft!
Another thing I’ve talked about many times on the blog and YouTube is when crafting, always shop the non-craft aisles for some out of the box inspiration! This wreath is actually a woven placement that cost $1.50! They had all kinds of colours but I loved the pop of yellow on the front door (which, btw, still needs to be painted). To give it a little more structure, I simply added some wood paint sticks on the back of the placemat with hot glue and that helps it be a little more firm (otherwise the placemat is quite floppy).
Then I removed the backings on the water lilies and hot glued everything in place.
For the words, I simply used a blue braided chord that I also found at the dollar store and hot glued it in place. You could get creative and write any saying or welcome that you’d like!
And that’s it! Quite possibly one of the most simple, easy and inexpensive wreath I’ve ever made! The colour and pizazz it adds to the front door is perfect for this time of year!
