Falling in Love with a Vacuum

    It happened.

I never thought it would happen, but alas, here we are.

I have fallen in love with a vacuum. Which vacuum you might ask? Specifically, the Dyson Cyclone V10.

In the past, I’ve never been a vacuum person. To be totally honest, I’m barely a house cleaning kind of person. It’s just not my jam. I like to think I thrive at many things in life, but house cleaning is just not one of them.

    Until now.

Now I can really see myself getting into this cleaning thing with my new Dyson Cyclone V10 by my side.

Over the last 13 years of our marriage, my husband and I have owned a TON of vacuums. We’ve had a few corded ones (which all died), we had a refurbished vacuum (that died too) and we even invested in a central vacuum. Unfortunately not long after installing it, we realized it was neither powerful nor convenient, as it could barely stretch far enough to clean all the corners in the home (ugh).

That’s why, when we heard that the Dyson Cyclone V10 was powerful enough to deep clean our carpets but still light enough to be held up for high cleaning and stairs, I was sold!  And when is a better time to put a vacuum to the test then when you are renovating?

As you know, we’ve been re-doing our laundry room and the renovation has turned into a complete gut job. You know what that means, right?! DUST EVERYWHERE! And I mean absolutely everywhere! Despite taking our shoes off in the laundry room to try and not track the dust throughout the house, it would still end up making its way upstairs, even finding its way into our bedrooms!

Overall, the stairs and light fixtures in our home seem to be the worst hit by the dust, which makes the V10 my ideal sidekick – because the machine is so lightweight, I use it up high in stick mode to get those hard-to-reach spots around the stair spindles and ceiling fans (yes, the previous owners had a thing for ceiling fans…almost one in every room).

At first I was concerned that with a cord-free machine I’d have to constantly stop cleaning to recharge, but one of the best things about the V10 is that it has a fantastic battery life of up to 60 minutes. This is great because since I’ve had the V10 I’ve been channeling my inner Monica Geller from Friends – I want to clean ALL THE THINGS! An added bonus? It also fully recharges in three and a half hours so I can carry on cleaning everything in my wildest dreams.

Having never been a vacuum person before, I certainly never thought I’d write an entire post about a vacuum but that just goes to show how great the Dyson Cyclone V10 is – when you fall in love, there’s nothing else to do but shout it from the rooftops!

    Love & Blessings,

    Christine
