Trash stinks. Bottom line. And toddlers trash really stinks. When you are dealing with diapers, it’s no laughing matter. Having had three kids all go through the diaper stage (and one still currently in it), I can confidently say that diapers are stinky business.
We used to have an old diaper genie back when my first born came along and over time, the kids started shoving anything and everything into the pale and eventually, it broke. And since then, we never replaced it.
So when I recently had the opportunity to receive a new Playtex Baby Diaper Genie Elite, I was excited. Cause for the last two years, we’ve been using little doggie bags. And let me tell you, they are no match for a toddler’s stinky business.
This new and majorly improved genie was a HUGE welcome to our home. The sleek new look comes in four different colors: white, light blue, light pink, and gray. So whatever the color of your child’s room, you should be able to find one that will match!
It now has a flat back that will allow it rest more snuggly against the wall, rather than sticking so far out, like it’s predecessor did. Also a new feature is how you open the bottom pale, to remove the diapers, once the garbage bag is full. Before, you used to have to move the entire pale away from the wall, as the genie would need to collapse in half. Now, it can remain in the same position and you simply press a button that will release the lower end of the pale forward and allow you to remove the bag. Genius!
Finally, the biggest and arguably the most important feature is the stink factor. This new elite system is not joking around when it comes to trapping in odors. With a filter to go at the top of the genie and more protection in the pale, you seriously won’t smell a thing! And that’s just the way we like it!
