Dining in the 6ix: True True Pizza

If you’ve hung around this blog for any length of time, you will know that my family and I are foodies. When I say “family and I” I truly mean that. My kids love the art of eating just as much as we do. We aren’t the kind of foodie that only seeks high-end dining experiences, we are just as excited to try a new food truck or greasy spoon place in hopes of finding a truly delicious meal. For us, just about anything goes, as long as it’s clean and delicious!

A few weeks ago, we were invited to come and experience the new and improved True True restaurant, downtown Toronto. The kids love venturing into the city like we do, so we made it a full day excursion, with a little back-to-school shopping at the Eaton Centre thrown in.

Even before we stepped inside the restaurant, we knew it was going to be an awesome experience. No detail was spared when designing this culinary destination. Branding in the food world is almost just as important these days as quality of food itself. And True True has managed to achieve both with near perfection.

Once inside the restaurant it is any interior designers dreamland as the place is staged with an art deco flair, complete with peachy corals, muted teals and pops of gold. If you want a “cool” place to dine, True True is both a feast for the eyes and belly!

Much beyond the trendy vibes, it’s critical that the food match up to the hype and I’m not exaggerating when I say that their pizza is hands down one of the best pizzas we’ve ever had. These artisanal pizzas are made to order, right in front of your eyes and are baked to perfection in their pizza oven in under two minutes!

With just about every topping you could think of (most of them locally sourced and/or prepared on sight), the possibilities are endless. And it should be noted, that you don’t pay EXTRA for the toppings…take as much or as little as you’d like…same price!

We tried The Aristocrat and The Date Night. Both totally different in flavor (one was more savoury, the other more sweet) but both equally delicious in taste. The kids had their own kids sized pizzas that they all made to order with their favorite ingredients.

Finishing off our delicious lunch, we all had the city’s first ever soft serve gelato ice cream! Having always been a fan of gelato (Italian ice cream), I was so curious how it would taste in a soft serve format. Let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint! So creamy, delicious and the perfect way to end such a wonderful family lunch!

true_true If you are heading downtown Toronto and want a new place to check out, make sure to drop into True True for some amazing pizza and refreshing gelato! You will NOT be disappointed!

    Love & Blessings,
