Floral Print Pants Outfit of the Day

    Plus size OOTD

My mom and my sister are in town and we got to do some shopping the other day. It was really fun, especially when my mom took the kids for an ice cream treat and my sister and I could shop for ourselves. That rarely happens, so I will take whatever chance I can get.

I found these fabulous floral print pants on the clearance rack at H&M for only $10! When I first held them out in front of me, I wasn’t sure how they would look ON me, but I decided to give them a try.

    Plus size OOTD

You see, here’s the thing. I’m kind of an awkward size right now. It’s been a hard battle to loose all of this post-children-bearing weight that I’ve put on in the past five years. With the first two babies, it seemed easier. But now with three kids in tow, I find I don’t have the time nor the energy to really put towards getting my body back in shape. It’s not an excuse, it’s just my reality. Once the kids are gone to bed, I have about one hundred and one other things to get done before the thought even crosses my mind to workout. I understand for some moms, working out is how they deal, but for me, I deal in other ways (and unfortunately, mine usually involves food…probably part of the problem!)

So that leaves me stuck at this size and shape right now. I’m not really sure what category I fall into; not fully a plus size but also not “average” size either. So I call myself post-preggo sized. Trouble is, most stores don’t accommodate for women at this stage in life. While my maternity clothing have long since stopped fitting me, my pre-pregnancy clothes are still packed away.

So it’s a lot of having to eyeball whether I think something will fit me or not and just trying it on (which as I stated above, I don’t get that opportunity very often). I won’t lie, there have been silent tears shed inside the fitting rooms before but I’m starting to come to a place where I am ok in this stage. I know it won’t last forever. I know that as the kids get a little bit older, it won’t always be so tough. I also know that I’m not defined by the size of clothing that I wear or the number I see on the scale. I know that I am just as beautiful as the size 4 momma or as the size 20 momma. My body went through A LOT to bring three incredible children into this world and so instead of being ashamed or embarrassed about my current size, I’m starting to be proud of what my body has accomplished and learn new ways to dress and highlight this post-preggo body!

My sister and I were actually both SHOCKED when these pants not only fit but were SLIMMING! Move over yoga pants, I think I have a new BFF and her name is Floral print! These are seriously the comfiest pants I’ve ever worn (actually, being totally honest, it doesn’t even feel like I’m wearing ANYTHING because they are so lightweight!)

Because the pants were so vibrant, I paired it with a simple black tank and lightweight button-down cardigan. Add a couple fabulous accessories and this somewhat simple outfit gets amped up a few notches! I wore this to a movie preview of Ricki and The Flash and I gotta say, I felt GREAT!

So whether you are a size 2 or 22, it’s ok. Embrace your shape and don’t be afraid to try on new pieces. Even if you don’t plan on being that size for life, buy a few fun pieces that will still make you feel fashionable but will compliment your new curves!

Finally, in the shoppable pictures down below, I thought it was important to include some plus sized options of this similar look. The bottom row are all plus-sized items for you to shop! I find what is so frustrating for me is finding sites and stores that actually accommodate to my new momma size while still feeling fashionable. So I’m excited to include a few plus-sized options so that all my readers can enjoy shopping these similar looks!
